How to feel body confident without changing your weight or the way you look:

We all have them days where it’s impossible to really feel yourself, to be in the element where you look in the mirror and say: “Damn, I feel so sexy!”

But are there more bad days than good in your own body positivity journey?

Everybody should be able to feel good in their own skin for themselves, so what’s stopping you from feeling like the goddess that you are?

According to the site DoSomething, around 91 per cent of women do not feel comfortable in their own bodies, that’s right 91 per cent! 

Behind the statistics are many faces of women who squirm to use the word sexy to describe themselves.

Has the pandemic maybe knocked your confidence and you don’t feel quite yourself? It’s a totally normal feeling in a world that is far from normal.

“Putting on my favourite playlist and my favourite outfit, even if I’m not going anywhere.” – Hannah

We love this energy! Clothing can make you feel powerful and finding some staple pieces you love is so, so, so important.

“Buying new clothes.”- Beth

If this isn’t an excuse to treat yourself then what is? Buying a few new pieces for your wardrobe certainly won’t hurt anybody.

“Wearing clothes that fit me properly.” – Olivia

Yes, yes, yes! There’s nothing worse than wearing a tight pair of jeans or a bra that digs in every time you breathe in. Ditch focusing on the numbers on labels and try a few different sizes to find your preferred fit.

“Matching underwear.”- Jade

A matching set of underwear can go a long way, even if nobody else is going to see it! A comfy but risqué set is a must-have to be the best version of you.

You cannot buy a good mindset like you can a new pair of jeans, it takes time and practice, we’re all up for more positive affirmations about ourselves! Why not try saying a few more compliments out loud to yourself every morning?

To shave or not to shave, that is the question! Whatever you decide to do with your body hair, rock it and do whatever’s most comfortable for you.

Practicing self-care is not only good for your physical health but aids your mental health too, how about trying some of our self-care ideas when you next set aside some “me time”.

Who doesn’t love a pamper evening? It’s a great way to relax and wipe away the day you’ve left behind.

And it doesn’t always have to be costly either, with a few ingredients you have lying around at home you can make a pore tightening face mask using:

  • One egg white
  • A tablespoon of honey
  • A squeeze of lemon juice

Honey revitalises the skins moisture levels whilst the lemon and egg white helps eliminate those dark pesky pores, pop it on for 15 minutes whilst having a soak in the bath.

A pamper evening full of rituals that work for you can really boost your body confidence, if you smell good after a long bath or putting on your favourite body butter, you’re bound to feel good too, right?

So, here’s to embracing all body types, curves and lines, scars and stretch marks, bums and tums, we all have them in different shapes and sizes.
